About the event
This exciting mindfulness day is a great way to encourage young people to stop, breathe and be present in the moment.
The retreat will be a creative, calming and insightful experience for girls ages 11-13. Set in the lovely Hebden Bridge, with an abundance of nature and fresh air as a given!
The transition from childhood to adulthood can be tough emotionally, physically and mentally. The stress of academic pressures, social media, body image and conflict in friendship groups can cause anxiety and self esteem issues in many young people.
During the retreat you will learn about what mindfulness is and how it can help you deal with your emotions in a calm way using meditation, breathing techniques, yoga and mindful art.
Mindfulness is all about paying attention to the present moment and living in the here and now. It is easy to ponder on negative thoughts throughout the day. Learn to let these negative thoughts simply float away and focus on the positives in a situation.
Being mindful will change your whole outlook on life and will provide you with a toolkit of ninja powers to be able to take on the world!

She now teaches children and young people mindfulness and yoga movement, often enriching these sessions with art and bundles of creativity!
Jess has a great love and respect for nature and is passionate about the positive benefits of outdoor learning.
